At the Skalica workplace, first-year Social Work students completed an in-person training titled Basics of First Aid. This is what studying looks like when it connects professional knowledge with real-life practice.
At the Institute of Social Work and Nursing of MUDr. Pavol Blaho in Skalica, first-year students of the bachelor’s degree program in Social Work completed an in-person training titled Basics of First Aid on March 21, 2026, under the supervision of PhDr. PaedDr. Mgr. Ivan Baláži, MBA, DBA, DSc.
Studying social work is not only about theory. It is also about being prepared for real-life situations where it is necessary to react quickly, make the right decisions, and remain calm. That is why our students have the opportunity to participate in professional training that connects knowledge with practical skills applicable in everyday helping practice.
The training focused on managing basic first aid situations, orientation in crisis moments, and mastering procedures that can be crucial in protecting health and life. Future social workers encounter people in difficult life situations in their profession, which is why this type of preparation is an important part of their professional education.
At our workplace, we emphasize that students do not only gain knowledge from textbooks, but also develop practical competencies, confidence in decision-making, and professional readiness for helping professions during their studies.
If you are considering studies that are meaningful and prepare you for real practice, there is still time to apply. Applications are open until March 31, 2026.
