Košice hosted the 1st nationwide ECMO conference for intensive care nurses on February 6, 2026, bringing current professional insights and highlighting the key role of nurses in ECMO teams.
On February 6, 2026, the first nationwide ECMO conference for nurses working in intensive care took place in Košice. The professional event focused on current challenges and practical experience in caring for patients connected to extracorporeal circulation, with the aim of emphasizing the significant role of nurses in ECMO teams.
The sharing of new knowledge was also supported by our lecturers, Dr. Rybárová and Dr. Hudáková. As nurses with many years of experience in intensive care, they gained further valuable insights into global ECMO trends and advanced intensive care procedures, which they can also apply in preparing future nurses for clinical practice.
The professional program also featured a presentation by master’s degree nursing student Bc. Parnica, together with last year’s graduate Mgr. Glovňa Brecková. Educational activities are key to the personal and professional development of both students and educators.
